Digital Filipino Bloggers Networking Event

I just came back from my first blogging event this past saturday. I didnt really know what to expect other than I would meet quite a diverse bunch of people.


Usually bloggers come in all different shapes and sizes… Whether its your computer technology geek, your fashion guru beauty queen, or grandma sitting in the back of the room blogging about her family secret recipes… One thing was pretty unanimous, everyone seemed to welcome you with wide open arms. If youre a blogger, you’re family. I am in no means your typical avid blogger, but this past saturday inspired me to step up my game just a little bit.


The event started off with a bunch of free food! It was pretty good surprisingly and I even went back for more cream of pumpkin soup. They also had some chicken, beef and vegetable dishes…
After that there was video presentation from PAGCOR (the casino that sponsored the event), some chick that sang and then presentations by a few of the the top ranked 50 Filipino Bloggers. Afterwards there was a raffle, a free poker tournament with cash prizes (which i took 3rd in), and free time to socialize while sipping on on some free wine.

Overall, I gained a short insight on the world of blogging and the benefits involved. I also picked up a few tips on how to improve my blog from several willing more experienced bloggers. Blogging is a great way to express yourself and relieve some of the stress built up throughout your daily life. It’s also a great way to meet new friends, business contacts and improve your writing ability. It can also be time consuming and challenging as well.

    bummer! i was supposed to be driving to chicago but it all turned out like one freakin’ halloween joke that it’s such a fake!

    i’m back in philadelphia and it was certainly nice meeting you though i did missed your bro!

    who knows, you might see me back in manila - depending on what happens with my next move over here.

    I think the biggest tip I learned was to just write about what you want to write about. Forget about what you feel your audience wants to read.. just keep it real, and theyll appreciate it.

    Also, these blogging tips were recommended to me by another person:

    1.0 I wish you could make your blog faster to load, it is a little bit slow to open and most readers do not have the time to wait enough. I think you can do this by minimizing huge photos.

    2.0 I wish your About Me page be more profound, and let readers know what you can offer them, and why they should visit your blog.

    3.0 Add a tagline below your blog name - make it interesting so readers will be attracted to read older posts.

    4.0 Transfer the ADD THIS button to every end of your post. This will be more easier for your readers in case they want to share your posts.

    5.0 Add an email subscription widget on your blog. Some subscribers prefer email subscription.

    6.0 Read a lot of blogs that you can help you. You can find some top bloggers on my widget - BLOGS I READ.

    7.0 Join the BEST FORUMS and you can also learn a lot of strategies. The list is on my sidebar.
